GDPR and Data Protection Policy
The LBSC takes the protection of data we hold for you as a member seriously and will take every precaution to keep your information safe. This includes ensuring that your data is collated, stored, processed and maintained in accordance with GDPR regulations. Basically this means keeping only the infornation that is necessary, for as long as necessary and ensuring that the onformation is kept secure until its time to delete it.
What type of information do we collect?
Basic contact details such as your name, address and some contact details. We take note of your date of joining and provide you with a membership number in accordance with club rules.
How do we collect information?
When you join the club either by filling out a form online or on paper, at the club.
Why do we collect such personal information?
We collect this information mainly to see what services and activities are of interest to our membership, and to be able to contact our members from time to time regarding coming events, club meetings and service-related notices.
How do you store, use, share and disclose your site visitors' personal information?
Our company is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online tool to contact you via their in-house mail server which is in their data storage systems, behind a firewall. We also maintain a locally held list of current and previous members which is password-protected. We purge ex-member details after about one annual membership cycle.
How do we communicate with our members?
The LBSC committee will promarily communicate with members using the admin@lowerbournesocialclub.org.uk email, but also using the club website's own communication tools that use the same email address.
What to do if you do not want your information to be retained or want to update it?
If you don’t want us to retain your data anymore, please contact us by mail to: admin@lowerbournesocialclub.org.uk, though we do need least your name and an email address. Similarly, please email any updates to your details to the same email address.
Privacy policy updates
We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.
